Timeshare Compensation Infographic – What You Need To Know

As shown in the infographic below, since April this year, over £387,000 has been paid out to timeshare owners in the Spanish Supreme Court.
The first timeshare case to reach the Spanish Supreme Court was last year, when a Norwegian woman successfully got her Anfi contract annulled due to perpetuity. Anfi were ordered to pay her back the full amount that she was owed.
In one of the latest timeshare compensation cases, a British woman received £22,940 plus legal interest and legal fees, with their contract being declared null and void. The Supreme Court stressed that the timeshare companies approach of using floating weeks was deemed illegal.
Moreover, €2,000,000 worth of successful claims have been awarded from 2013-2015 in European Courts and the highest single timeshare payout recorded so far stands at €130,000. In addition, €30,000 is the average successful claim that has been awarded.
As you can see from the infographic, timeshare compensation has been awarded on a number of grounds from full purchases paid back, legal costs, the amount of interest paid, doubled compensation from the cooling off period, as well as maintenance fees.
